On 23rd February, 2019, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (“DPIIT”) released the Draft National e-Commerce Policy (“the Draft Policy”), requesting interested stakeholders to give their comments on the policy document. The deadline for the submission of comments is 29 March 2019.
The policy includes recommendations on a wide range of subjects such as data sovereignty, data protection, intermediary liability and intellectual property, among others.
SFLC.in is organizing a round table discussion in Delhi on March 27, 2019 to analyze the policy and how it will affect the multi-stakeholder community at large.
