Data today has uses in all spheres of life, and India contributes significantly to the amount of data being produced. However, the data economy in India is unregulated and underutilized. To amend this, Non Personal Data and Community Data need to be harnessed. The Government has laid out its intentions to do the same, in the form of a Non Personal Data Framework. This article tries to formulate a future looking document, through an analysis of the two previous iterations of the Non Personal Data Governance Frameworks. The criticisms and challenges need to be highlighted, in order to avoid repeating the errors of the past.
