The Cyber-crime Cell of Goa Police has charged one Devu Chodankar with offences under Sections 153A and 295A of IPC, 123 of Representation of People Act and 66A of Information Technology Act, for his alleged inflammatory posts on Facebook targeting BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. In his posts, Mr. Chodankar reportedly said that if the Modi Government comes to power, it will lead to a holocaust of minorities. The impugned post has since been deleted by Mr. Chodankar, but the police plans to contact Facebook in order to retrieve the data. The complaint was filed by one Atul Pai before the Crime Branch, but it was later transferred to the Cyber-crime Cell. Investigation is currently ongoing.
