The Goa police registered a case against unknown person/s under the Sections 228A and Section 506 of the IPC and Section 66A of the IT Act for disclosing the identity of the journalist allegedly sexually assaulted by Tehelka founder-editor Tarun Tejpal, and for circulating “defamatory” emails against her. The lady had complained to the police that her photograph that was available on the Tehelka server had been circulated without her consent.
