In 2016, after WhatsApp had updated its privacy policy, a petition was filed challenging the updated privacy policy in the Supreme Court. Recently. an interlocutory application was filed in the pending cases against the 2021 Privacy Policy. The case was last heard on 15.02.2021 wherein the CJI had noted that “privacy of people is more important than your money.” A notice was issued in the matter returnable within four weeks.
