PILs have been filed against WhatsApp in the Delhi High Court wherein WhatsApp had recently submitted an affidavit. In its affidavit, WhatsApp has stated that its privacy policy is not “mandatory” and no one is forced to use the platform.
The Government of India, through MeitY, had informed the High Court of Delhi that it has sought WhatsApp to restrain the implementation of its privacy policy.
The other matter on this is Harsha Gupta vs. Union of India (WP(C) 2947/2021).
