SFLC.in has filed a writ petition before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court challenging the legality and constitutional validity of a notification issued by the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The impugned notification designates the Delhi Police as the Nodal Agency under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules, 2021”), empowering it to issue takedown notices for online content.
