SFLC.in is inviting applications for the post of Junior Counsel at our office in New Delhi, India. Lawyers who have a keen interest in civil liberties, intellectual property rights law, and technology laws and who have a desire to defend the digital freedom of citizens may apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze laws and policies in the areas of technology law, human rights law, and intellectual property laws to develop well-informed organizational positions;
- Research and draft articles, opinion pieces, and other miscellaneous literature on issues such as privacy, data protection, free speech, net neutrality, and others;
- Draft articles, opinion pieces, and other miscellaneous literature on issues such as privacy, data protection, free speech, and others;
- Draft petitions, provide legal representation, and observe litigation proceedings as required;
- Work in association with other law and policymakers i.e. conduct meetings, draft expert opinions, contribute to consultation processes, provide research support, and more;
Job Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor of Laws with a good standing before the Bar Council of India.
- At least two (2) years of litigation experience is a must.
- Excellent legal and non-legal drafting and analytical skills, with experience in legal drafting.
Post Qualification Experience
- Experience managing day-to-day projects and deadlines
- Familiarity with issues at the intersection of law, technology, and policy especially those issues involving emerging technologies
- Knowledge and understanding of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and SFLC.in’s mission to promote and preserve Digital rights.
Remuneration
Will be commensurate with experience and will be at par with industry standards.
