Businessman Ravi Srinivasan was arrested by the Puducherry Police on the basis of a complaint made by Karti Chidambaram, son of Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, for allegedly posting defamatory/scurrilous comments about him on Twitter.
On 20 October, 2012, Ravi had posted a tweet saying that Karti Chidambaram had amassed more wealth than Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra.
He was arrested by the Puducherry police on the morning of October 30, and was later on released on bail.
