Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Litigation Counsel to join our team at SFLC.in. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping legal strategies, contributing to the organization’s advocacy efforts, and providing leadership in matters related to technology law, human rights law, and intellectual property rights.
Responsibilities:
- Legal Research and Drafting: Conduct in-depth research on laws and policies in technology, human rights, and IPR laws.
- Draft court submissions, petitions, replies, applications, legal notices, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
- Provide well-informed organizational viewpoints on legal matters.
- Publication and Advocacy : Contribute to the monthly publications on the SFLC.in’s website, including articles, opinion pieces, and other literature.
- Stay abreast of developments in privacy, data protection, free speech, net neutrality, and other relevant areas.
- Analyze and communicate legal perspectives on emerging issues.
- Case Studies and Analysis: Conduct research and case studies on laws related to Information Technology, Data Privacy, and Intellectual Property Rights.
- Collaborate with the team to develop insightful analyses on legal trends and implications.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to further the organization’s mission.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the legal team.
Qualifications:
- Law degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in technology law, human rights law, or intellectual property law.
- Familiarity with the legal system and experience in appearing before various courts and tribunals.
- Excellent academic credentials and research skills.
- Familiarity with the Open Source Ecosystem.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi.
