A good deal’s been said about the crisis at OpenAI. It’s the culmination of a long story of greed and betrayal. Question is what this means for the effect of ‘AI’ on the world economy and progress of humanity. That story is a grand one, but the apparent protagonists, Sam Altman and OpenAI, are unfortunately not worthy of its scope.
