Delhi High Court Ruling on App Ban in Kashmir Raises Concerns Over Legal Precedents

The Delhi High Court has recently decided to uphold a government order to block Briar, an open-source messaging application, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for national security reasons. SFLC.in was Briar’s legal representative. 

The app was sought to be blocked along with 13 other apps as terrorists and their supporters allegedly used them. However, SFLC.in defended Briar, citing that locals and journalists used the app in their daily activities.
