Fellowship Program

SFLC.in’s Fellowship program aims to provide a platform for India’s top technology and policy thinkers to bridge the knowledge gap among different stakeholders in the technology ecosystem, particularly at this juncture when technology is causing significant changes to our lives. We are looking for technology-savvy individuals keen to produce high-quality legal/ policy research and recommendations regarding the latest issues within the technology ecosystem. Our fellows should have a deep commitment to solving several public policy challenges at the forefront of national and global conversations.

As a Fellow, you will:

  • Contribute to the monthly publications on the SFLC.in website;
  • Research and draft articles, opinion pieces, and other miscellaneous literature on issues such as privacy, data protection, free speech and net neutrality and others;
  • Analyze laws and policies in the areas of technology law, human rights law, and IPR laws to develop well-informed organizational viewpoints;
  • Draft court submissions and petitions, replies applications and legal notices and other miscellaneous documents;
  • Conduct research and case studies on laws pertaining to Information Technology, Data Privacy and Intellectual Property Rights.

Who should apply:

We welcome applications from a law/policy graduate with at least 1 year of experience at our office in New Delhi. We seek candidates with excellent academic credentials, research skills, openness to new ideas, and a commitment to contribute to the organizational mission. Candidates fluent in both English and Hindi would be preferred.

Applications will be accepted until April 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (Indian Standard Time). Late applications will not be considered.

  1. A resume or CV, along with two writing samples.
  2. A statement of interest describing the following:
    • Your interest in joining the Fellowship program.
    • Your interest in the tech-policy laws and policies.

Step II: We will invite the shortlisted candidates for an interview with the SFLC.in appointed Selection Committee.
